Over the last year gas prices have surged up and down like a roller coaster minus the enjoyment factor. A survey conducted in March asked gas consumers whether gas prices had caused them to reconsider or alter their vacation and travel plans for 2012.

New Research Survey Shows That Teens Need to Work on Staying Focused While Driving

There are many teen drivers on the road in all fifty states. When parents first allow their kids to start driving, they need to really make sure that their kids are mature enough to handle a two ton vehicle because it is such a huge responsibility.

A new survey was distributed by insurance giant State Farm. The survey found many things that point to the fact that teen drivers pose a larger threat than other age segments of drivers on the road today. Teens do not have the same reaction time as older drivers do. This can be a game changer.

Pet and household cover lift RSA

It said first-quarter, net written premiums rose by 5 per cent from the previous year to £2.2bn with all regions delivering good growth.

RSA, which owns the More Than brand, said it was in the final stages of negotiation to provide home and pet insurance to John Lewis and Waitrose customers in the UK.

The chief executive Simon Lee said: “For the full year, we remain confident of delivering good premium growth and a combined operating ratio for the group of better than 95 per cent.”

The life insurer Legal & General also said 2012 started well with overall sales flat for the first three months at £434m, despite a marked slowdown in savings sales as UK consumers tightened their belts. <

Jump in profits boosts Redrow recovery

Redrow, one of the smaller listed housebuilders, posted a pre-tax profit of £15m in the six months to the end of December 2011.

“While the outlook for the industry undoubtedly remains fragile, there is increasing confidence in the housing market, including first-time buyers,” said Steve Morgan, the owner of the Wolverhampton Wanderers football club, who founded Redrow and returned to the builder as its chairman in 2009 after a boardroom coup.
